In 2022, co founders Ceara Marlow and myself (Emily Gilmore) decided to launch Innovative Ultrasound Solutions, a mobile ultrasound company that serves patients in their doctors’ offices. We talked with countless patients and after serving the geriatric populations of Forsyth and surrounding counties for a few years, we realized patients needed more options for diagnostic testing within their current doctors’ offices.
Mobile ultrasound machines are now the size of a laptop computer and can travel practically anywhere to scan and diagnose patients wherever needed. The image quality is superb on our machine, and as sonographers ourselves, we strictly vet our employees to ensure they will uphold our company values and deliver quality ultrasound studies. Modern technology certainly makes this business possible.
Having ultrasound in office encourages patients to follow through with their care plan, as it is more convenient and affordable. Self pay patients may benefit from the cost effective rates as well. For providers, they are able to increase service offerings with no upfront costs and also increase office revenue by adding ultrasound. Physician practices are often looking for ways to increase their service lists to better cater to patient needs. Our company vision is to encourage healthier communities through accessible mobile ultrasound services.
Since opening in 2022, we have served hundreds of patients in their own doctors’ offices, at screening service locations, and in research facilities in North Carolina and Virginia.
